Clive Constable leads the commissioning process for The Spine, our new northern base in Liverpool.
Clive has been involved in the RCP's Spine project since its inception. Before that he was the RCP's deputy chief executive and led the Membership Support and Global Engagement Department, and was heavily involved in the arrangements to celebrate our 500th anniversary in 2018. His focus now is on the completion and opening of our facilities in The Spine, and as part of that he also acts as a local ambassador for the RCP, building contacts an engaging with the Liverpool Knowledge Quarter (and beyond) and linking these to the RCP. Clive continues to work closely with RCP directors, officers and a wide range of colleagues on the project.
Before joining the RCP in 1996, his career covered 21 years in NHS management starting as an administrative trainee and then roles in a range of district general and teaching hospitals. This included hospitals in Derby and Romford: and 10 years based on Merseyside, working in Clatterbridge Hospital, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, and Arrowe Park Hospital (which he helped to open).
