Denise is an Executive Architect, currently posted at the MOH Office for Healthcare Transformation (MOHT), where she brings together partners (e.g. public health researchers, data scientists, designers, government agencies) to create healthy neighbourhoods in Singapore. Trained in architecture, her interest in the nexus of built environment and health was sparked while designing nursing homes in RSP Architects Planners & Engineers. She later joined the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) to kick-start large multi-disciplinary and multi-industry project teams to plan and design Singapore’s built environment for an ageing population. Her interest has continuously led her to explore how the built environment can be planned and designed, using evidence-based methodologies, to shape health and behaviours, so as to implement evidence-based interventions.
