Geraint Hughes is an economist and town planner and a director of NEW masterplanning. Geraint is experienced in leading strategic masterplans and has particular expertise in town centre regeneration. He has led frameworks for major centres such as Gloucester, Truro, Slough and Taunton and for market towns such as Andover, Keynsham, Bodmin and Devizes. Before setting up NEW, Geraint led the public sector regeneration team at Terence O’Rourke and established the Town Centre Development team at DTZ where he undertook research on behalf of the Association of Town Centre Management, Action for Market Towns and British Council of Shopping Centres.
Geraint also advises on the masterplanning of healthy and sustainable mixed-use communities. He has been advising St Modwen on the Locking Parklands masterplan since 2004, and is currently advising on planning applications for a new ‘market town’ in Oxfordshire and a Garden Village community in Gloucestershire.
