Joana Mendo is an architect and lighting designer with over 10 years of experience working with Lighting. She has completed projects all over the world, after studying Architecture in Lisbon and Lighting Design in London. Joana has worked with renowned companies such as ARUP, SEAM Design, Lichtvision, delivering and managing projects. Her portfolio includes Lighting for large masterplans, public parks and urban structures such as stadiums, transportation hubs and museums, among many others. Her passion for cities got her involved in various research initiatives such as a Master Module with the Boston University and Arup University: Cities, Navigating Urban Power and Influence, a Research Program in Colombia with the London School of Economics, Configuring Light Program, Arup and Leni Schwendinger, with whom she has been collaborating since some years in numerous Nighttime Design initiatives. Joana currently leads her own design practice and is based in Berlin and Lisbon.
