Dr Negar Ahmadpoor is a Lecturer in Urban Planning and Design at the Belfast School of Architecture and Built Environment, Ulster University. Her research interest lies at the intersection of urban design and environmental psychology. She is interested in studying humans’ behaviours, cognition and emotions within the built environment in order to find the ways with which we can design urban places that are responsive to people’s needs and support their physical and mental health in today’s world. She is building research to show how design of the built environment can maximise human health, quality of life and wellbeing. In her research work, she employs traditional methods used in urban planning and design studies, environmental psychology and neurophysiological methods.
