Nicholas Choy

Nicolas is an Associate at Allies and Morrison where his work focuses on delivering large-scale masterplans. He was instrumental in delivering the Irfan masterplan in Oman, using his research to optimise the effectiveness of the design codes being applied there. Following on this experience, Nicholas provided his urbanism expertise in a series of large projects including East Bank, Canada Water, and the Jurong Lake in Singapore.

Nicholas has a PhD from King’s College London, with research focused on urban design codes, and is a graduate of the University of Waterloo and the Southern California Institute of Architecture. He has presented papers at conferences for the Housing Studies Association, the Royal Geographical Society and the Association of European Schools of Planning. He regularly serves as an external juror at academic institutions, including the California Institute of the Arts, Birmingham City University, the Architectural Association and the University of Cambridge.
