UCL Institute for Environmental Design and Engineering pursues a deeper understanding of the interactions between the built environment and health, human wellbeing, productivity, energy use and climate change.
Creating buildings and spaces that support human health and wellbeing and ensure the sustainability of local and global ecosystems is the core purpose of our research. This is reflected in our postgraduate teaching, creating a new generation of experts to make our buildings, towns and cities more sustainable, healthier and more efficient places to live.
We are part of The Bartlett, ranked #3 for Architecture/Built Environment studies in the 2022 QS World University Rankings
