The opening plenary of European Healthcare Design 2020 featured three illustrious experts on planetary health, sustainability and climate change.

This plenary of keynote talks explored wider issues around health, wellness, life expectancy, health inequalities, and how technology may be deployed to address these problems.

Organised by NHS Property Services, this panel discussion highlighted how the NHS is the UK’s largest public-sector emitter of carbon emissions and has a duty to respond to government targets, including being net carbon-zero by 2050.

This session included discussion between some of the UK’s leading thinkers and practitioners in healthcare design on the Government’s new Health Infrastructure Plan (HIP).

This plenary session featured keynote talks from three global health leaders who, in different capacities, have been involved in the pandemic response.
